Dr Marks and Porter the DogTheresa Marks, DVM

Dr. Marks grew up in the area, attending St. Raymond's, Wildwood Catholic High School, and then Douglass College Rutgers University. She attended Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Marks started out at the age of 14 as a kennel person and moved up to an office manager until her acceptance into veterinary school. In March, 2000, she started her own practice, South Paw Animal Hospital. She is an avid baseball fan and enjoys bicycle riding, snow skiing, and camping. She is also a ham radio operator. She enjoys teaching pet CPR classes and fundraising for various causes. Dr. Marks spends her free time with her husband Keith, and their furry family of an English Mastiff named Molson, and 7 French Bulldogs: Porter, Sherman, Stout, Barley, PJ, Amber and Sierra.  She is a member of the South East Veterinary Group, NJAVMA and AVMA. Dr. Marks was inducted into the National Register's "Who's Who" of Executives and Professionals.

Genna Volchko, Office Manager

Genna has worked at South Paw Animal Hospital since 2002. She joined the team as a receptionist, and in 2005 became the Office Manager.  In her free time, she enjoys gardening, scrapbooking, and spending time with her husband and their 2 daughters. Genna has 6 cats, Paco, Jelli, Echo, Vinka, Anya, and Foster. One of her favorite parts of working at South Paw Animal Hospital is the special bonds she has made with clients and their pets over the years.

Lindsay S., Assistant Office Manager

Lindsay joined the South Paw team in 2006 as a receptionist.  In early 2014, she was promoted to Assistant  Office Manager. Lindsay enjoys baking, cleaning, and spending time with her boyfriend and their 2 sons on her time off. She has a cat named Peebie Kitty. Lindsay’s favorite part of working at South Paw Animal Hospital is how every staff member is compassionate and caring toward every client and patient that walks through our doors.


Andrew J., Receptionist

Andrew started working at South Paw in June 2014. He grew up in Paulsboro, NJ and moved here in 1998. Some of his hobbies include crafting, traveling, and reading. Currently he has a cat named BG and 4 parakeets named Alphaba, Truvy, Anell, and Sally. His favorite part of working at South Paw is talking with all of the clients and getting to know them.


Dawn G., Veterinary Technician

Dawn joined our team in 2007 as a receptionist/veterinary technician. She worked here until June 2010, when she moved to Bayonne, NJ with her husband. In March 2014, we were able to get her back when she relocated to Cape May County. Dawn enjoys gardening, reading, and spending time with her husband and four children. Dawn has a pug named Wyatte, and 2 cats, Thor and Odin. Dawn’s favorite part of working at South Paw Animal Hospital is that everyone works together to accomplish even the simplest task.

Allison A., Veterinary Technician

Allison started volunteering at South Paw when she was 12. In 2012, she was hired as a part time Veterinary Technician. Allison just finished her Freshman year of college. She is planning on becoming a Veterinarian. She enjoys martial arts, traveling, and spending time with her Lab mix named Mimosa and her cat Whiskey. Allison’s favorite thing about working at South Paw Animal Hospital is her coworkers, because everyone is positive, upbeat, and they are team players.

Nancy M., Kennel Attendant

Nancy joined the team in 2004 as our Kennel Attendant. She has passion for dog obedience training, and has helped many of our clients train their puppies. She enjoys reading and attending church activities on her free time. Nancy also likes to spend time with her husband and their 2 sons, as well as Summer, her yellow Labrador Retriever. Nancy enjoys working at South Paw Animal Hospital because she gets to interact with the animals and make their stay here as fun and comfortable as possible.
